Dvd xpress dx2 software download update#
I am a novice when it comes to computers.i bought the dx2 yesterday and got a wrong driver message.after clicking no on the update driver box,i thought all was well when i tried to preview and got a bsod and a restart.what i ended up doing was going to scroll down to Download links and click 709 vista driver.exe i saved it to my desktop.unzip it and you get a vista x86 and vista 圆4 file, an installation file and a remsvc registry entry.i still had capwiz and showbiz installed when i followed the two sets of instructions.the only thing different that i did was that in th second set of instructions i did not proceed to step 7. i plugged in the usb cable, windows detected the new device and located and installed the new driver on its own.after a tense moment i started the vcr and started previewing and recording w/o a hitch.i have a hp pavillion dv6000 laptop, preloaded vista 32 home premium,no sound card, integrated intel graphics, amd tk-55,1 gb, in other words a plain jane.i also bought the vcr/dvd player at walmart for 60 bucks.unfortunately the svideo output only works when the dvd player is doing the playback,so i used the rca jacks.hope this helps,i've gotten so much help from forums.if you have any ? i'll try to answer them. I know the ADS products have had some issues with Vista but I thought I saw on one of these forums that some others had gotten it to work so it made me think I must be doing something wrong.

My PC was purchased last year with Vista Home Premium already installed and not an upgrade from XP (if that makes a difference). The Cap Wiz comes up fine but as soon as I try the "Preview" or "Record" options is when the BSOD comes up. Message at the top states "BAD_POOL_HEADER" along with the usual codes at the bottom like 0x00000019 and you could probably guess the rest.

Anyway, even with this most recent driver it still doesn't work only this time is the Blue Screen of Death. At that time, it was something like version 2.6 from 2006. Is this the most recent one? It took forever before I could the newest one that I knew of loaded because prior to this Cap Wiz kept giving an error message that the driver needs updated. The Vista driver version is 3.0, created 1/31/07.

I went to ADS Tech's website and downloaded both new drivers for Vista (Cap Wiz and one for recognizing that the Xpress device is connected to the PC). Long time reader first time poster Actually I haven't posted before because I've usually been able to find the answer I was looking for without having to post a new thread.
